LINE UP :
STEFANO DI MICELI + WATS RECORD
Stefano Di Miceli was born in the suburbs of Milan in 1986. From an early age he started appreciating all genres of music and managed to catch something from each of them. Since 2005 he started playing electronic music as house, minimal and techno, immediately bonding with vinyl that he continues to work with, representing the main support in his work. Influenced by German scene and culture, his rythm gains a deeper and underground touch. He is in a constant search for the perfect mix and timing to play a particular record, always making a careful selection of the best music possible. In February 2008 he creates Wats, an acronym for We Are The Show: partying without rules. Their motto is: respect for people, love and knowledge for electronic music. After ten years of partying, in 2017 he creates his own label, Wats records. A label with a well defined idea of quality music but polyedric and mutable at the same time. From 2016 and 2017 he released music on Lapsus Music, Plus Beat Recordings and Bunker Record. In early 2018 he released music on Optikal and 3-4-1 Cuts. Currently resident at Amnesia Milano since 2012 and regular guest at Apophis Club since 2018.
SOUL VOICES GOSPEL
Soul Voices was born in Milan in 2015. The choir is the realization of the dream of our friend Paulette that from the friendship created with Wendell Simpkins, she felt a strong desire to create a choir that could revive music melodies and vocals of her childhood in Cleveland and convey the same emotions.
Paulette was the first African-American model in Italy parading for George Armani, always proud of her origins, for the history and culture of her people that see in the Gospel her most sincere expression.
Wendell Simpkins began singing at the age of three and took his first steps in the choir of his Church in Aiken, South Carolina. He directed the university choir during his university years, then in New York he studied musical theatre and performance, participated in several musicals, was one of the voices of the Harlem Gospel Choir and a winner of several Gospel Music Awards. He is a vocal coach, singer and organizes singing workshops with choirs in Italy and abroad.
Our friend unfortunately left us, but today our choir conducted by Wendell Simpkins, has perhaps exceeded his expectations and has become a large family that in her memory, he wants to give voice to her soul to share joy and energy with anyone who listens and sings with them.
The repertoire of Soul Voices contains songs belonging to the tradition, sometimes sung a cappella, as pieces of contemporary Gospel that populate the "hits" Gospel of the moment and that we may hear singing in the masses of churches overseas.
Our Closing party will be unforgettable ;)
See you there
